THIS is an ABOMINATION

So my cousin and I were talking on facebook and he sent me a link to check out...it is going on the ballot for 2010 in maine. It is horrible!!!!!

They want to remove protection based on sexual orientation from the Maine Human Rights Act. Eliminate funding of civil rights teams in public high schools and so much more

Is maine working their way backwards?  I want to be at rallys and protests and start spreading the word....

And these people that are for keeping marraige between a man and a woman just placed an ad saying that they weren't against gay rights...talk about putting their foot in their mouths...

So apparently maine wants to make their gay and lesbian communities second class....what next? forcing gay couples to move out of the state of maine? Isn't maines motto "the way life should be"????

Sounds like its the way life shouldn't be... a state based on closed mindedness. you better believe I wont let that go that far. My brother still lives in maine. Many of my friends are in maine that are gay...Oh you better believe i will be helping out on protests with this.

**DISCLAIMER(BECAUSE I WANT TO COVER MYSELF)**** your beliefs are yours..mine are mine..they don't have to agree. I am not saying yours are wrong and mine are right. I just have strong feelings about this..I mean..why wouldn't I?

What really is an "abomination"

****DISCLAIMER**** I am not anti-religion at all. I was raised in a very religious family. I still go to church (to a UU church of course) I have no issue with people who believe in God and the Bible. I am merely qouting the discrepencies for the "pick and choose" people.

So--- I hear all the time that gay marraige is an "abomination"....If we looked at every thing in the Bible that is considered an "abomination" wouldn't  people do these on a daily basis?

Lets see--

1) Cross dressing-- (I just don't feel like typing the entire scripture so I will abbreviate and give you what book it is from and all that) So does that mean those that must wear the "bro" (according to seinfield) are doing something considered an "abomination"?  DUETERONOMY 22:5

2) Lying- so..even those little white lies count don't they? PROVERBS 12:22

3) Justifying the wicked, condeming the just- so does that mean lawyers commit "abominations" on a daily basis? PROVERBS 17:5

(THESE NEXT ARE FROM LEVITICUS 11)
4) Eating animals that "chew the cud or them that divide the hoof".. so...does that mean eating cows, horse, moose, etc. mean you are commiting an "abomination"?

5) Eating the hare--so should rabbit hunting be banned?

6) eating the swine- SO does that mean eating pig shouldn't be allowed?

7) eating things without fins or scales is an "abomination"--so guess what should be out? LOBSTER, CLAMS, etc. oh wouldn't that suck?

8) What goes on all fours with paws-- so does that mean bear hunting should be banned too?

9) creeping things(the ferret, rat, weasel, turtle, etc)..oh no..so no turtle soup (yes some people eat turtles...)

10) the lizard, chamelean, SNAIL- oh no..no escargot!!!

11) Unclean things LEVITICUS 7:21

12) Cursing your mother or father is punishable by death--- SO does that count if you do it when you are not near them?? LEVITICUS 20:9 (which is just  three verses before the common qouted anti-gay message)

13) Never cut the hair on the side of your head or trimming the edges off your beard LEVITICUS 19:27..well i think everyone gets hair cuts and shave don't they??

14) Do not plant 2 types of seeds in your garden, or wear two blends of material in your clothing... Oh man....that sucks for the gardeners ...and the cotton/polyester blend...*sigh*

Well I'm sure you get the point.......Why pick and choose??? how is that fair?

MAINE- WAKE UP!

So-- I signed into facebook....and guess what I see......Someone that claims to be my "friend" had decided to post her obvious distaste for the fact that Maine legalized gay marraige......wait a minute..you know I am gay..I am married..and you are now telling me that you think I shouldn't be allowed to get married. HOLD IT! I do not think so! That is just not allowed in my life..

Let me let you in on a little tidbit of information--marraige itself was not created by the church. It was actually created when families wanted to enlarge their land and money or to stop feuding between two families. The families were combined during marraige and the land and money were pretty much combined. Feuds ended and life went on. Then somehow, the church got involved. Now it is a sanctity of marraige....

Now I am not saying that what other people believe in is wrong..It's their beliefs..but have a heart. Would you tell someone they couldn't marry someone they loved with all their heart and soul? Put your beliefs aside...As a human being--would you tell someone that?

I know people say "what about civil unions?" There are over 1,000 rights that straight married couples get that gay couples do not get....even with a civil union...how is that fair? Seriously...how? I just do not understand with all the teachings of love thy neighbor, those who have not sinned can cast the first stone(or however that goes)...

It also says in the bible- eating certain seafood is a sin. Why do people take only some of what the bible says into interpretation and let the others slide?

I just don't get it.

Gay couples live as straight couples, they get jobs, they pay taxes, they raise kids, they buy houses, they go to church.....

This person that claims to be my friend will be removed from my facebook. You can't be my friend and blatently disrespect all that I am.  I understand your religious beliefs may say what I am doing is wrong, is a sin, etc. However(!!!!!!!) don't be so disrespectful....
